We weren't meant to bring that up...

There is nothing quite like quoting people out of context to prove point is there? If this is the level people have to stoop to discredit people with a contrary opinion to their own,all I can say is they must be very insecure in their own beliefs.

Here is what I ACTUALLY said on 29th June:

Numerous pinsters have predicted armaggedon in the Irish property market but it simply won't happen. To quote the DR Pepper ad what's the worst that could happen?Well I see it something like this, the ECB, like the FED and Bank of England always talks tough on fighting inflation while keeping interest rates NEGATIVE i.e below the rate of inflation, in simple terms they still have the foot on the gas pedal while saying they are targeting inflation, but if the rates of inflation in the UK and the Eurozone are above the target this would mean they should have interest rates above the rate of inflation in other words putting their foot on the brake. Since central banks are run by bankers for bankers they don't care one jot about infation wiping out the savings of a generation or people on low or fixed incomes struggling to pay food and utility bills, all they care about is the survival and profiability of the banks. So after the token 0.25% increase next month(if it even happens at all) the ECB will like the Bank of England start cutting rates quite aggressively as the economic situation deteriorates.See what happened to gold and commoditiies last week when they sussed Bernanke wasn't going to put up interest rates.

It appears the pin is somewhat of a clique, populatled by those who do not appreciate those of a contrary opinion posting on their website and much prefer the cosy back slapping atmosphere of like minded individuals who only ever agree with each other and praise each other for being both witty and correct in equal measure.

Mariettas are a well known cure for morning sickness did you know, therefore a medicine and consequently expensive .

I.e a 4 bed house where someone is trying to rent a single room out, that's not counted by daft as a house to rent, is it?

I doubt thats happening.

For Lettings in Dublin for example. I trawled through the first pages of ads from a non-specific search and house shares were rare.

Also just put in the usual max rent for a single room. I put in an expensive 700 max(a max price for a house share) and it came back with 104 results out of 5673 units available and even some of these results were not house shares so its under 1.8% error!

And guess what, Daftwatch has Dub rentals at over 5500 and this is the same as my search results of 5673!!

While searching non-specifically, i did get a shock at the amount available in D15. 447 results came back to let and hardly any was a house share.
24 1beds, 180 2beds, 146 3beds, 73 4beds, 23 5beds units available to let.

Under Sharings itself , 374 rooms were available.

So at least 1279+ rooms are available to rent right now in D15, that is some supply.

Can anyone point me to any research that has been done re the actual QUALITY of the housing stock in this country ? Both new and second-hand, I mean.

I mean from the point of view of insulation, materials, sustainability etc.

Surely these things will increasingly have a bearing on the market price being paid ?

Thanks.
