I'm confused now, are we talking about being touched by the hand of God, or taking copious amounts of hallucinogenic narcotics in our youth?

Has this thread anything to do with the fact that Practical Philosophy lectures resume nationwide this week ? (that comment should be worthy of a practical discount for me).

Can you explain ? I've no idea what you're referring to.

The Practical Philosophy course is run by the SES, an alleged cult that was accused of severely beating children in its UK school, the St James School. They run the John Scotus school in Dublin but there have not been any allegations of similar issues here.

Thanks. Had heard about the "cult" allegation before but not the child beating in the UK school.

It's an odd one. I know two families with kids in John Scotus who absolutely love it. It feels a bit "new-age" to me. Hard to put my finger on but I'm not entirely cool with it.

Only started doing it last January. Brought me back to my Civics class in secondary school in the 70s. I loved Civics and was inspired by it but it wasn't an examinable subject. Not sure if I'll continue with the second part of the course but very pleased that it brought me back to that place I was in as a teenager (the class not the school !).
