I often walked past this house on Carysfort Avenue and would never have guessed that there was such a large modern extension out the back.

But what is the story with the tiny white house next door that is literally built in the side passage? You can see it better on Street View. Is this Dublin's smallest house?

Always wondered about that house myself. My 4 year old daughter reckons Mr Small lives there..

Surprisingly not! From the planning submission, they actually pack in over 100m2 floor area into their plot. It looks like they had same architects as your link above.

Did they dig out a basement or similar to achieve that as the front of the house only looks about 6 foot wide? The front door is so narrow that it looks like a reasonably wide-shouldered person would have to go through sideways.
