I don't even think I can describe here what my first and only Weatherspoons experience in the UK involved. Suffice to say it involved full drunken, female nudity at about 9pm on a Friday.

They should definitely open them here then... :nin
There's one in Belfast......

The one in Belfast is downright scary.

Oddly enough these types of pubs seem to be doing OK, you know the ones, they are are trying to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment for you to consume what you have purchased.

Are you plugging your namesake pub in Dalkey by any chance?

I recall a radio report a while back that Wetherspoons were due to open on Capel st. (c.2005 I think), but Diageo wouldn't sell them their leading market branded stout as it would be on sale beside so much (superior imo) non-Diageo product at reasonable prices. Apparently industry thinking is that a licensed premises cannot survive if it does not sell this particular product :-/

Wetherspoons is rough in the UK. It would probably suit the Temple Bar crowd though.

Hold up.
Roll back there a minute, Ted...

Could you clarify what you mean by "full drunken, female nudity".
Is that yourself or someone else?
Would it be better written as "naked fat bird" or "pissed chick with no clothes"?

Just for research purposes is all...

And yes Weatherspoons is rough.
I was in one in Whitechapel once at about 4 O'clock in the afternoon and there were people off their heads there. With kids.

They always strike me as a place thats handy for grub thats a few steps up from McRats but not a joint for serious drinking, unless of course you are seriously damaged from long term serious drinking.
