I've been keeping an eye on these since they were put on the market about 8 months ago as I'm definitely interested, but haven't bothered arranging a viewing as I'm sure my valuation (about 700k) would be scoffed at. I'm renting a much larger period house around the corner for 2k a month and am happy to play the waiting game. It's only a 5k drop for now but we have to start somewhere.

Looking at the DAFT photo of the external rear, is that a door to nowhere on the 1st floor? Looks like they planned another balcony or fire escape and never got around to it. What else did they not finish...

For rent at 2800 per month, which would fit with the 700k value.

That's the one! Though I've worked it out - it's future proofing. When the sea level rises due to global warming, the 1st floor will become the ground floor. Or maybe it's for a water slide feature from the children's bedroom. Or for getting rid of unwanted drunk guests, just pretend it's an internal door and say "after you...". But seriously, they probably planned to add a decked balcony at the rear to match the front, but ran out of money or had a planning issue.

Still when they're asking that much money and have something this glaringly weird on the outside, it does make you wonder what the bits you can't see are like (probably all fine of course!).

€1.35m for essentially a mews down the end of a laneway.

If they got offered 700k they should take it take it and bank it as fast as they can.

Are these meant to be family homes? Because I don't think too many people want to sleep two floors above their children. Especially when their children will be sleeping on the ground floor by the front door.

Sounds a lot safer than sleeping beside the back door on the first floor!!!!
