It was a high risk transaction and hard to believe that any intelligent person could fail to recognise that.

Especially since they worked in a bank.
I think it is a well established fact that banks and the people working there had no concept of risk, therefore the fact that he worked in a bank would make him less likely to recognise that this was high risk!

Down to €1.35m from €3.55m. If you pushed you might get it for €1m. Not bad at all, put another half million into it and you've got a very nice place.

I guess this will finally sell for at least the asking, love the sky light in the hall. Looks like a single story to the front but in fact is a 3 story. Seems these period house in this price bracket in SCD are still well below 50% of their peak values.

Love it. And unless there's a catch, it seems like incredible value in relative terms. Might go and see it on Saturday - if only to drool! (The gym will be my music room - it even has a nice little recess that'll be just perfect for the vinyl collection!)

150k more than earlier this year and it seems half the garden is gone. The garden used to be much bigger and there was a shed/summer house at the end, it seems to have disappeared into the neighbours garden.

Great trade.

Auction today. Very curious as to what this goes for.
If anyone is at the auction, don't forget to share the goss! :)

Bueller wanted to buy it but he missed the auction; he was off having fun for the day in the lovely Dalkey weather.

Vendor delusion continues:

They rob a chunk of the back garden. (I actually nodded in approval of this move.)
They put it back on the market at a price that would recover their original outlay. (Still nodding my head.
They get a bid that would let them put €50k in their pocket (if we ignore fees, I am vigorously nodding and wanting to High Five the vendors.)
Then they refuse the bid. (High five should turn to slapping the back of the head.)

So are they hoping that someone will now suddenly appear and say:

"We know the bubble is about to pop. We know you nabbed the back garden. We know the larger property took years to sell originally even when there was a fizz in the market. We know how much you paid then when you had an interest in the boundary line. We know you failed at auction. Hey, please take more money from us now because we are too embarrassed to keep all this spare cash in our mattress."
