Broadband provider Imagine are making great use of Eircodes in my experience with them, most couriers still unfortunately ignore em tho' and still ring asking for directions instead of looking at the damned package

I've had two deliveries from DHL recently where they found my house based on an address with an Eircode, but without a house name/number or a street name, without telephoning me. Other couriers are still telephoning for directions.

EDIT: It seems this is my 2000th post. Too much time on my hands obviously......

Speaking of house names -- An Post has assigned my house name to my neighbour's house in the official database, and it's in the eircode one also. Very odd.

I was trying to get my house name deleted rather than changed and to live without one. I succeeded with An Post and Eircode. The address now shows up as townland, city and post code only in both their databases. Attempts to make the same change on Google Maps have been unsuccessful so far.

Whitesnake Cottage ?

Napalm Death House. I don't get a lot of solicitors at the door.

Now there's an idea. Why didn't I think of Celtic Frost Lodge back when we bought the place. 8)

I agree that would have been a better choice.

eircodes are working in google maps now. seems it's in trial but pretty much working. it just locates a pin rather than lists the address.
