Simon is that rare breed, a good, thorough Irish business journalist. He's an acquaintance as well, from my college days, and I can confirm that he's a really nice guy in real life, too. I hope he stay with the IT.

This shower, the O'Donnell conspiracy, were in court again yesterday.

http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/fin ... 03483.html

They are back in court on thursday to tell Judge Peter Kelly whether they will continue to maintain the fiction that the children own everything.

Who's to say that at the time the pictures & contents in the house weren't valued correctly....but that when the valuers went in recently, the pictures & contents, at that time, were not ? :x :x :nin :nin

One Landscape looks much the same as the next, but one might be worth 100k & the other a tenner.

Maybe it's like that eBay scam where you're actually bidding on a picture of an iPhone.

Surely there are some issues associated with "mistakenly" telling a bank one has an asset when borrowing money only to discover that you have "misvalued" the asset (twice)? Particularly if one is a member of a professional body...

I would have though it would be up to the bank to do their own valuations?

I just cant get over what drove successful business people to throw all their money, and borrow multiples of that money, to invest in one minor market, Irish property?
