It's a valid point in the sense that you are entitled to believe in whatever you want...

You can believe in the tooth fairy if you want.... but it won't make it exist...
Similarly you can believe that this may be a way out of your troubles but in reality it won't.
Most probably it might solely serve as a cathartic release to focus on something other than your worries.

FWIW I don't see the freemans approach catching on ... in the same way that I don't think pointing out to a guy who asks me for my wallet in a dark alley while weilding a big stick, that it's really my wallet and he should just accept that and maybe buy his own... the reality is he takes my wallet because of the big stick.
To take the example a step further... it is better to just pony up the wallet and not have to tackle the big stick... you might escape the stick just before the wallet is discovered to be empty.

@needle

you've referred to myself and others as "dipshits" "Idiots", "Full of crap"

and finished off with:

"I mean look at alejandros tough guy bolloxology stance - hes like a little Cartman, a modern DeValera, hence the cartoon. Who is this authoritarian little prick to tell me what I can and cant believe?"

I take my hat off to you sir, for this is Irony in its absolute purest form. take a bow

Cartman = de Valera

Is this a first for this analogy ?

We could go for Kenny = Michael Collins to follow up.

In fairness, it was mostly you.

Haven't heard anything that tuneless since 1979. I love it ... or at least I would have back then. More of a Rachmaninoff fan now :)

While you have made much more of an effort on this than I have or will that is not what Article 6 says.

Quote:
Article 6
1. All powers of government, legislative, executive and judicial, derive, under God, from the people, whose right it is to designate the rulers of the State and, in final appeal, to decide all questions of national policy, according to the requirements of the common good.
2. These powers of government are exercisable only by or on the authority of the organs of State established by this Constitution.

The Constitution isn't the source of all law by a long way. Common law and tort law principles that predate it are still in use today. The Constitution is only a guide, European laws that are not imcompatible with the Constitution are a source of law in the country.

Interesting factoids x2 -

1. Recent UK property law now indicates that a tax is due to be paid on properties bought by 'legal persons' but will not be paid by 'natural persons'. A major bone of contention for freemen. Many detractors say there is no difference at all, supporters say its key. Will we see a challenge in the courts to a property tax that will conclusively define both?

2. Fascinating piece on Germany on last nights (27/3) Newsnight on BBC2. Followed a movement called 'The Immortals' who wore something like the Guy Fawkes mask and arranged flash-mob torchlight protests in German cities. Naturally they are 'citizens movements' with the usual gripes which betray their hard right, neo-nazi roots.
Interestingly, one intelligence officer implied they were difficult to eradicate because they had strong support in both the police and intelligence services.

On a tangent - Breivik, the Norwegian nutjob who shot all the kids, refused today to recognize the legitimacy of the court that's trying him.

Hopefully the cops were on their oath at the time or that case will surely collapse.
