Surprised I haven't seen this posted yet.

https://www.irishtimes.com/business/commercial-property/irish-life-unit-buys-262-south-dublin-apartments-for-rental-1.3492279

262 units, in a much in demand area, taken off the market in one go! I'm not too far away from this Fernbank development, and my in-laws were looking at downsizing to an apartment there. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come, or the next generation will be renting forever. Very hard to compete with big funds, and if you're a developer why go to the bother of marketing and selling by private contract when you can get a deal swiftly done?

Beware the rise of the professional landlord.

Tenants will look back on the days of the gombeen landlord with fondness :)

Ireland’s largest private landlord seeking €1,500 rent for one-bed Finglas flat
No rent controls for Ires Reit at Hampton Wood after it pays €40m for 128 apartments, most of which were never formerly let
