Kinda pathetic shenanigans.

However, as land purchases were taking longer than expected, Arden Forestry took a decision to invest some funds, under advice from a Gibraltar-based company, in Spanish property. Arden Forestry directors set up a firm in Dubai called GTD International, to buy properties in Spain.
Mr Hevey said that as only a person with a Spanish social security number can apply for a mortgage in that country, he personally bought properties using a 50 per cent mortgage and a 50 per cent deposit from GTD International.
“The intention was then to re-register the properties under a Spanish company once the purchase of the properties were finalised,” he said, adding that two such properties have not yet been transferred to a Spanish company

I've been involved in investments my entire working life and never once has forestry made any sense to me.
So many risk factors, especially given the time-frame involved.

Ahh, remember when Christmas Tree investments were all the rage.

I know someone involved in this on a legitimately global scale. They have to make a 10-15 year investment with no real way to know what the commodity price will be by the time the wood is mature. It's some bet.

Nice brochure. Kind of like Palm View without the grammatical errors. So many misleading statements.

What a bunch of c****.

On a very large scale, over long continuous investment horizons, it might make sense. There have been examples of forests being managed over the centuries in a controlled and sustainable way, as an economic resource:
