Just wondering what the typical legal fees would be for buying a €300k apartment in Dublin.

Around €1500 +/-20% as a guideline. Depends if anything tricky or out-of-the-ordinary comes up.
Drop an email to a couple of solicitors that are located conveniently for you to get to, for signing paperwork etc., they usually give you a quote.

I assume that's just the professional fees with searches and registration fees coming to maybe another €1,200 say?

Wow! .......because the registration and search fees are outside anyone's control and come to at least 1,000.

I used a solicitor who had a flat rate fee of €700. The rest of the fees, registration, etc., will be the same regardless of the solicitor.
