I've been working on a database for a number of months and have a domain name and basic (Joomla) webpage set up. However the guy who was helping me found a job (sign of the recovery?) and cant assist any longer.
Looking for someone in the Galway City area who can help me get this thing up and running. Can anyone recommend a company or freelance developer?

I'm a Scientist by training but want to keep the website straight forward and simple. Any advice is much appreciated

More than you're going to want to pay. My advice would be figure it out yourself. It's not that hard.

I used to work as a web developer a while back

Typically a basic brochure website with 5 pages would be 500 to 1k

Something basic with a database and you need to add the same again - the more complex the more money ...

you could try www.kooba.ie - I have heard they are good ;)
