Conditions determine consciousness... Facebook groups indicate level of consciousness not quite elevated just yet...

Lads, I am paying for $100 worth of facebook ads to get numbers on the group up. We just passed 400 in 24 hours. A broader ad campaign would help grow numbers drastically.

If anyone can commit to donating money (I can PM screen grabs to show ad spend), or do whatever is needed from a transparency point of view... then I will run multiple ad campaigns.

Who can donate?

Thanks for taking the initiative, Gavin & co. Great effort and I hope it gets the ball rolling for a public protest and much more discussion throughout the country.

I can give €25 for starters. How do I send the dough?

In terms of money you need very little if any at all.

Very little ads would lead to a very little facebook group... I have lots of experience runnning ad campaigns. That said, Facebook ads arent too expensive either.

Strike that, we are nearly at 600. On Day 1.

For sustained numbers like this I need an ad budget. 600 came mainly from two concurrent campaigns. Thanks to the members who have already offered funds.

My other FB campaign (Cervical Cancer, not 'my' campaign, but one I advertised) has 19k members, on a circa 500 dollar budget (albeit a more emotive subject).

First objective is 10,000. Media take an interest on round figures.

FTW.

Once you hit 1000 the porn stars and the sub c list celebrities like Brendan O C and Liz tend to join and give it some right momentum :)

Not to go too off topic but...

What are the main achievements of this campaign to date... As I understand it, little has been heard from those charitable businessmen a while back...

Massive media coverage when it passed 10k... real world protests in multiple cities... no policy change as yet, but numbers have gone from 10k to 19k since then.

Can that really be attributed to the Facebook Group?

And in either case, it would seem to the campaign has dissipated largely in the maelstrom along with many other, equally valid, campaigns.

It can *really* be attributed to the Facebook group. It wouldnt have happened otherwise...

Like all campaigns, it goes through peaks and troughs... if the Facebook group did not exist, where would we stay cohesive?
