I have set up a Facebook group titled 'No to Nama'. We really need to get the ball rolling, and I dont think the Property Pin reaches enough people.

I have committed a modest EUR110 to place ads for the new group targeting Irish facebook users.

Join the group and forward to all your Facebook friends. I need people to get involved and become admins for the Group. I dont have any experience in the political or protesting realm. But hopefully the new Facebook group will become a conduit for spreading the message rapidly to the general Irish public.

This has being rolling around my head a while now.. i.e Nama with marked to mkt now, Government NAMA Vs Free mkt, that whole debate..

My stance has being I dont have a problem NAMA if the Assets are marked to market now..But I am a firm believer that their shoudl be no government intervention.. free mkt etc..

The first 48 hours of the Facebook group have been extremely successfully. We now have 184 members and we can already see the exponential growth occurring as new members invite their Facebook friends to join.

One more person has become an admin for the Group and one more person has funded a second Facebook advertising campaign. I have posted extracts of media coverage and article links on the group's discussion board to raise awareness among Facebook users of the potential negative consequences of NAMA, and raise awareness of the alternatives that exist to the current NAMA approach.

While the Facebook group is not directly organising the protest, we are confident that once the protest arrangements are finalised, we will be in a position to communicate the details to a listing of thousands of like-minded people instantly.
