Any chance you could put up the full chart - better yet, maybe make it available in native format for others to add to? I'd love to add more connections.

Should you PM people one by one as additions are made so each new draft contains all previous info? Or is there some type of googledocs thing you could do?

I'll be very upset if this affects my Sunday reading on the latest crazy goings on in the lives of Van Morrisson,Rosanna,Bono and co.

Essential reading.

If you're a fucking clueless moron that is.

Presumably. Ballsy already edits the Titty mag that comes with it.

He'd ingratiate himself to be sure. But He's not cute enough for it though.

There's all sort of UCC connections as well remember
Eoghan Harris and Fanning are the same age so must have been contemporaries.
John A Murphy must have been teaching there around that time.

Aengus had his Sinead O'Connor daliance too remember.

Moore McDowell is another contributor as was Michael McDowell all through the 90s.

What connection is Professor Ronan Fanning? If he's not related he must know someone.

Shane Ross as well. Son of John Nathaniel Ross ex partner of MOP. O'Reilly connection below.

He now concentrated exclusively on his legal practice, which grew exponentially until his retirement around 1990. Through his good offices, Tony O'Reilly, whose personal solicitor he was, became chairman of Matheson, Ormsby and Prentice, which acted thereafter for Independent Newspapers.

Maurice Hayes must have all sorts of longstanding connections to the O'Reilly network.

Gay Byrne. Does he still do that awful diary. He paid Eoghan Harris's mortgage when he was out of work at RTE. Probably close to Caden too.

I didn't mean to put you out of your way! Great to see this diagrammed, though, nice work!

Like the way Brian Hillery is at the top of that tree, not sure if it was planned that way but it seems appropriate. Pure grey eminence - the ultimate golden circler. Arguably the best connected person in Ireland - and of course, the plebs that listen to Joe Duffy and read the tabloids, including the Sindo, have never even heard of him.

It's quite a coincidence that the two people in the world best qualified to run the Sindo happened to be married to each other.

That's nothing.

The best man to run Independent News and Media just happened to be Tony O'Reilly's son!

Thanks. I often wondered how an English hack could get a job in such a parochial rag...
