National Property Price Register Clarification

Is says the data above will be published, free of charge on the web, for each property sold.
However the data will not contain the vendors names.

Anybody know if this is making progress?

Which is code for as soon as all professional political lobbyist views are received, reviewed and any considerations are taken into account.

An email query to the NPRSA asking when would the database is available came back this week with this reply to me:

"The legislation was signed into law by the President on the 20th December.
No commencement dates for the Act have been set yet. Until such time I am unable to give you an estimate when the Register will be up and running."

It was the CEO of NPRSA who said June.

Just off the phone to the NPSRA: was told they are waiting for the minister to sign off on collecting and collating the data (a 'commencements order'?), and that once that's done that they'll have to await the minister's signature on publishing the data/making it public.

I mentioned June had been a suggested goal for this to happen, and while the person I spoke to neither confirmed nor denied this timeline, he did not sound optomistic.

There is no technical issue; The NPSRA needs to go active first in its full right, then the database can be started. This is politics not tech.

So should we all start e-mailing Alan Shatter urging him to push it along?

Or are there unavoidable hoops and red tape that need to be walked through at a snails pace due to the way our democracy functions?

You'd like to think that someone has decided on the particulars of the inter-agency data exchange that needs to happen, has designed the headings on the poxy spreadsheet columns, and all that remains for the day the commencement order is signed is to press the Publish button. Is that too much to expect?
